About Callander Community Development Trust
CCDT, formerly Callander 2000 and Beyond Community Development Trust Ltd, was incorporated in May 2003, company registration number SC249970. We are a registered Scottish Charity, number SC034462 and are staffed by volunteers. The purpose of the organisation is to undertake practical projects for the benefit of Callander community.
The CCDT Board
We have nine Member Directors who are elected at the Annual General Meeting each May.
Currently they are:
Frank Park: (Chair) Runs the Lade Inn and Scottish Real Ale Shop with his family. Chair of Callander Community Hydro Ltd. - a project he originated back in 2008, which started generating electricity in Sep 2014, profits go to CCDT for Community Projects. Director of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs Destination Group. Member and past Chair of Callander Enterprise. Over 30 years in IT developing and implementing software for major companies throughout the UK, before moving to Callander in 2005 to acquire the Lade Inn.
Alex Mitchell: (Vice Chair) Is a retired Chartered Accountant, he has lived in Callander since 2003. During that period, He has spent a spell as a member of McLaren High School Parent Council, and another as a member of the Community Council. Currently, he is Chairman of McLaren Community Leisure Centre, Convenor of the Ben Ledi View Community Newspaper, and a member of Callander Enterprise. In his spare time he is a member of Callander Writers Co-operative.
Hilary Gunkel: (Treasurer) Has lived in Callander since 1985, running a guest house for 8 seasons, and then a garden tour business for 17 years. She has organised village garden openings for charity and her particular remit on the CCDT Board is Greener Callander. This involves improving the visual aspect of the town with hanging baskets, tubs and flowerbeds. The group was responsible for the creation of the Community Friendship Garden in South Church Street, the planted beds outside St Kessog's and carries out on-going maintenance of both.
Mark Griffiths: is an experienced leader with a background in general management and finance roles, who provides straight forward, enthusiastic and trustworthy leadership, with a track record of positively embracing and implementing change. His background in Finance is supplemented by strong experience in the Manufacturing, Technical and Construction sectors. He possesses well developed Risk Management, Customer, interpersonal and Health and Safety skills. He is genuinely passionate about Callander, its people and creating a sustainable environment for enterprises.
Bev Field: Is a teacher who has lived in Callander since 1999. Bev has previously been a member of the Callanders Kids committee and the Primary School Parent Council. Bev is now part of the group establishing Mountain Bike Trails around Callander.
Malin Heen-Allan: Is the Manager of The Clanranald Trust for Scotland since 2003 and site Manager for DunCarron Medieval Village. Malin and her family moved to Callander in 2011. She has a background in Travel & Tourism, theatre and is currently working with the Film & TV industry. Clanranald Trust recently purchased former the St. Kessog's Church in Callander and moved their administration team to be headquartered here. Clanranald Trust.
Paul Prescott: Paul Prescott has lived in Kilmahog since 1990. He is the chair of Callander Ramblers and Callander’s Countryside and vice chair of the Callander & West Perthshire U3A. He is also a board member of Callander Community Hydro Limited.

Our eight Associate Directors are nominated by community organisations to represent them on the CCDT Board.

Sue MacKay: (Callander & District Heritage Society) Callander & District Heritage Society
Vacant: (Callander Enterprise) Callander Enterprise is the business association for Callander and the surrounding area. It currently has over 200 members and growing rapidly.

Chris Martin: (Callander Youth Project Trust) Is the Managing Director at Callander Youth Project Trust. Chris is a social entrepreneur who has a background in both formal and informal education. He has also recently become a resident of Callander. Callander Youth Project Trust
John Snodin: (Callander's Countryside) Callander's Countryside looks after the interests of CCDT in the fields of Access, Landscape, Geology and Wildlife. To date various projects have been successfully completed. On a personal basis John is a member of SWT Callander, Callander Rambling Club and Callander Heritage Society.
Chris Gillespie: (Callander Council of Churches)
Ciro Cirillo: (Callander Community Council) Moved to Callander in 2009 and runs the local Italian Restaurant. Ciro brings knowledge of the local visitor market and how the seasonal business effect small business. Ciro is involved in a number of Community projects as well as being part of the Community Council.
